HAPPIA Health and Psychology Principles in Action

About me

I am an award winning psychologist specialising in behaviour change and the wider determinants of health.

My ten years of applied research into behaviour and how our surroundings can influence our health has given me unique insight into what strategies work, for whom, in what circumstances and why.

During this time, I've evaluated dozens of behaviour change interventions and helped hundreds of people within the NHS, emergency services and local authorities.

I can help you to identify what will work for you and help you to achieve your goals.

Why do I need a Health Psychologist?

Health psychologists use their knowledge of psychology, human behaviour and health to promote general well-being and understand physical illness. They are specially trained to promote healthier lifestyles and try to find ways to encourage people to improve their health. This may be through working with individuals, businesses, writing health policy or helping to shape the environment in which we live and work.

Why a HCPC registered professional?

The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) is an independent, UK-wide regulatory body responsible for setting and maintaining standards of professional training, performance and conduct of the 12 healthcare professions that it regulates, including Practitioner Psychologists. To be registered as a Health Psychologist requires years of training and ongoing development to demonstrate professional competence.
